Roulette is one of the most popular casino games today. According to most historians, roulette was produced in the 17th century by a French mathematician. The game has a traditional charm and elegance; we’re used to seeing high-rolling gamblers dressed up in tuxedos spinning the evening away. The roulette wheel is an intriguing device and understanding the elements is definitely the very first step in understanding the game.

The actual wheel will be the part of the device which is moveable and turns. The table is also separated into sections: red and black with conversely numbered spots from 1 to thirty six. The spaces also have one "0" and in the American version of the casino game, a ‘00′ spot. Also included in the Roulette wheel could be the small plastic-type ball that spins around as the wheel is spun.

As you begin gambling on the roulette wheel, you will be offered the alternative to either place an inside or an outside bet. An inside bet is a wager on a number or numbers running from 1 to 36 or ‘0′ or "00". An outside bet is a bet on portions of one third of the possible numbers to come up, excluding zero and 00. Because the probability percentage is much higher with an outside wager, the pay outs are also greater.

Normally, winning an outside bet or wager results in a payout of two to one. For instance, if you were to bet one dollar on an outside wager and win, you would succeed two dollars from the spin of the Roulette wheel.
